Mode of Action

Metazeb acts through two highly complementary mechanisms. Metalaxyl is a systemic fungicide that rapidly penetrates plant tissues and inhibits protein synthesis (specifically RNA polymerase) in fungi, stopping internal mycelial growth. Mancozeb is a broad-spectrum contact fungicide with multi-site action; it disrupts vital biochemical processes, including lipid metabolism, respiration, and ATP production within the fungal cells, leading to rapid spore death.
