Application Method

  • Mix the recommended dosage in the required volume of clean water to ensure a uniform spray suspension.
  • For pre-emergence application, apply to a well-prepared, weed-free soil surface within 0–3 days of sowing or transplanting.
  • Ensure adequate soil moisture at the time of application to facilitate the formation of a uniform herbicidal film.
  • Use a flat fan or flood jet nozzle with a high volume of water (200–300 liters per acre) for complete soil coverage.
  • Avoid disturbing the soil surface after application, as this can break the protective chemical barrier.

Mode of Action

Orion acts as a powerful Protoporphyrinogen Oxidase (PPO) inhibitor. Oxyfluorfen disrupts the weed's cell membrane by causing a massive accumulation of porphyrins in the presence of light. This leads to rapid lipid peroxidation and the total breakdown of cell walls. When emerging weed seedlings come into contact with the treated soil layer, they experience rapid desiccation, necrosis, and death.

  • Always wear full protective clothing, including chemical-resistant gloves, a face mask, and safety goggles.
  • Wash hands, face, and all exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water immediately after the spraying process.
  • Store in the original container, tightly closed, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and food items.
  • Strictly avoid eating, drinking, or smoking while handling, mixing, or applying this agricultural chemical.
  • Dispose of empty containers safely according to local regulations and prevent any drift into nearby water bodies.
