Mode of Action

Venus acts as a powerful inhibitor of the fungal enzyme trehalase . Validamycin interferes with the breakdown of trehalose into glucose within the fungal cells. This disruption starves the fungus of essential energy and prevents the synthesis of cell wall components. Consequently, the extension of fungal hyphae is halted, and the pathogen is unable to absorb nutrients from the plant, leading to its eventual death.
